The privacy and confidentiality between us is generally legally protected. Normally, information can only be received or released with your written permission. Exceptions include: 1) if there is a reasonable suspicion of abuse/neglect of a child, elderly, or dependent; 2) if you may be in danger of harming yourself or another person; 3) as required by a third-party to obtain reimbursement; and 4) as otherwise ordered or required by law. This does not cover every possible exception. I keep confidential records of each session.
We accept Lyra, Modern Health, Alameda Alliance and San Mateo Health Plan. For any other insurance I am considered out-of-network provider; if your insurance covers the cost of therapy, statements are available per request for insurance reimbursement.
My fees increase each year in January. Related services, including phone calls longer than 5 minutes, are charged on a prorated basis.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. For questions and information about Good Faith Estimate visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Once we decide to work together, I reserve a time specifically for you. You are billed if you miss without canceling or cancel with less than 48 hours notice.
Please ask if you have questions. I can assist you with a consultation or referral if you feel you are not getting what you need.
