Get to Know Alina
Hi, I’m Alina. If you are new to therapy or searching for the right therapist to help you heal, I invite you to reach out. I’d love to get to know you and learn how I can help.
I’ve been in private practice as a licensed therapist since 2011. Prior to private practice, I worked in community mental health as a psychotherapist and in corporate, high tech industries as a Human Resources executive.
I am trained in the Gottman Method and financial psychology, working with couples and individuals to help them make better decisions in their lives, find fulfillment, heal their hurt, and reach their life’s dreams.
To me, there is no better feeling than opening those doors for others. It’s my life’s work, and I could not imagine doing anything else!
My practice is action-oriented and solutions-focused, applying family systems and modalities that include emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I will work closely with you when needed, help you set achievable goals, and hold you accountable as you work towards them. Together, we will do what’s necessary to resolve your challenges and transform your future.

I’ve known since middle school that I wanted to be a psychologist. My early years were challenging, and I understand the value of having a strong support system and how it can change your life. I continue to find fulfillment in knowing that I can leverage my experience, insight, and genuine caring to help people feel better—about themselves, their family bonds, their relationships, and their sense of who they are in the world.
Sometimes, taking the first step is the hardest part. I’d like to make that easy for you too. Take a moment to schedule a free 15-minute call so we can learn more about each other and see if we’re a good fit. I work with couples, adult and teen individuals virtually throughout California and in person in Alameda and Burlingame.
My academic credentials include a BA in Clinical Psychology and MS in Counseling, both from San Francisco State University, as well as Executive Development Program from CEDEP, which is part of the INSEAD Business School, and Human Resources Management Certification from Columbia University. I am also verified by Psychology Today, a national mental health professional organization open only to those who have completed their masters degree, at least 3,000 hours of supervised experience gained prior to licensure, and rigorous state board examinations.
